For a timeless look with an updated edge, look no further than glamourous, retro waves. With just a few tools, you'll be ready for your holiday party in a cinch.

Step 1: Separate hair into 4 sections. Clip 3 sections out of the way. Spray the  loose section of hair with a thermal protectant (we like L'Oreal Professionnel's Color 10 in 1 spray.) Using a 1 1/2 inch or 2 inch curling iron, take a small section of the hair and curl hair towards the face, curling from root to end. Keeping hair in the rolled curl shape, pin curls at the crown with a bobbi pin or clip. Once the first section is pinned, spray with a firm-hold hairspray to set (L'Oreal Professionnel's Infinium 4 is perfect for this.)

Step 2: Repeat step 1 with the remaining 3 sections of hair, making sure to curl all sections in the same direction. Remember to set each section with hairspray!

Step 3: Allow hair to set for at least 10 minutes; longer if you have more primping to do! Once the hair has set, begin by carefully removing the pins, starting with the sections of hair that were pinned first.

Step 4: Once the pins have been removed, use a flat, boar bristle brush to gently brush the curls, twirling with your fingers to set, if needed. The key here is soft, rather than tight curls!

Step 5: Give hair one final spritz with hairspray to ensure your curls stay bouncy all night!
